We interview the film subject, whether you or a loved one, while weaving through their life to build a colorful picture of their tone, humor, lessons, and experiences. Interviews are professionally audio and video recorded and then stitched with family photos and videos into a legacy film. These documentary-style films are a vivid way to connect with family and friends for years on end.

How do you interview the subject? Interviews are conducted in-person at the subject's location. Virtual interviews are possible, but will reduce the quality of audio and video recording.

How far do you travel to interview a subject? Travel within 30 minutes of Ellicott City, MD is free. We will happily travel further, but do require client reimbursement.

How do I receive the finished film? Films are shared via Google Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud-sharing platform that you prefer.

What questions do you ask during the interview? Our goal is for the interview to be conversational. We adapt our questioning to the subject's answers which allows them to tell their story naturally and in full. Through a pre-interview consultation, we'll put together a general outline of topics and questions to cover.

Can I provide questions to ask? Yes. Before the interview, we'll have a 30-minute consultation where we'll talk about the process and you'll be able to provide questions or topics for conversation.

Is there an option for non-English language interviews? Yes, we offer a translation package which ensures your story is captured accurately in your preferred language. This includes a bilingual interviewer and English subtitles overlaid on the final film.

How long does the whole process take? From the start of interviewing to delivery of a finished film takes 4-6 weeks. This timeline depends on travel requirements, scheduling interviews with the subject, and post-production.

Can I interview the subject myself? Yes, a friend or family member can be the interviewer if you'd like. We'll still be there to help guide the conversation and capture the interview.

Does the subject need to prepare for the interview? No preparation is required. However, you should start thinking about the family photos and videos that you would like to integrated into the film. For printed photos, we offer professional scanning for $2/photo.

When do I pay? We require a 50% deposit upfront with the remaining half due upon delivery of the final video memoir.

How do you ensure privacy and confidentiality? You have rights to the raw interview recordings and final legacy film. We never share any information, interview materials, or final films with any third-parties without express written permission from the film subject or a relevant representative.
